Memorial Day

Rain Rain Go Away! I think i chanted that the whole drive up to Whidbey Island. And just as we arrived, we must have chased the rain away. We enjoyed a splendid day with friends at the beach house. The kids explored the beach, looking for sea creatures...

And they made a super race track in the sand for their monster trucks...

And got crazy wild in the tide pools - playing with giant kelp strands and splashing to their heart's content!

Thanks for sharing Memorial Day with us and making it a special one to remember!

Tourists in Seattle

Acting like a tourist in your own city makes you remember how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful place! A ferry ride on a warm sunny spring day...gasping with awe at our sparkling emerald city (the water, the skyline and the cruise ship in the background) and strolling thru Pike Place Market listening to the eccentric musicians scattered along the street. How can you not love Seattle?

The Nash Bash!

Saturday, Rebecca & Brenden were married at the Palace Ballroom. The wedding was absolutely beautiful. Beck was glowing and was truly the most lovely bride. We celebrated with all our heart and soul: double-fisting cosmos and dancing late into the night. Hence, let it be called the Nash Bash! A night of great memories!

Beck & Brenden ~ we wish you a happily ever after life together! We are so happy that we could share your day with you! Congratulations!

Day for Mom

On Mother's Day, we woke up early and drove to Puyallup for Mother's Day brunch at Phil & Alicia's house. I rarely enjoy cooking on any regular ol' day, so I was especially delighted to cook on Mother's Day. (you can't sense the sarcasm can you?) Seriously though, Kimmer gave me the delicious idea to prepare a French Toast casserole (thank you thank you) - not only was it easy, it was yummy! Brunch was wonderful - dad, i loved your Quiche! Alicia, mom & i celebrated motherhood together with the whole fam and were showered with gifts. Weston's card was definately the most creative with a stick drawing of he and i picking flowers together. i love it! That afternoon, the boys played sports outside together and i kicked up my feet and buried my nose in a novel. you'll notice the tissue paper flowers that lake made me in the picture above...and i love the shot of lake so serious - working on his homework that was due Monday.
the pleasure of doing nothing all afternoon, while hearing my boys little voices of glee playing outside with daddy was priceless. and hearing lake cheerfully hum a little song while he worked on his homework. and west kept confusing mother's day as valentine's day... I thank God for blessing me with such a wonderful husband and my two angel boys.

Night at the Mariners

Last night we went to the Mariners game. Weston was mesmerized with the bullpen - his little head kept swiveling from the pitcher to the catcher and back and forth and back and forth. he loved watching them warm up. we stayed there so long, at one point somebody came over to chat with west. west asked him if he could please have a ball and the guy asked him if he could catch it? he told west to scoot back away from the fence and he threw a ball up over the fence to him. west was so excited! Later, in our seats, when the M's got their first home run, west was jumping up and down giving high 5's ~ and he kept saying the Mariners won!!!! he LOVED being at the Mariners game! Lake had fun being there too - he mostly enjoyed eating a gigantic bag of kettle corn and being on the lookout for the Mariner Moose and Captain Plastic who was floating the stands. We had a fun family night out!
